Teaching About Wisconsin Courts

Court Americans turn to courts to resolve disputes in a peaceful and orderly manner. The materials on this website provide Wisconsin teachers and students with significant primary and secondary resources on the role of courts in the American and Wisconsin political system.

The materials on this website have been developed through the collaboration of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the State Bar of Wisconsin's Law-related Education Committee and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This collaboration originated with From the Courtroom to the Classroom, a teachers' institute on the Wisconsin court system. Some materials produced for the teachers' institutes have been collected in the publication Connecting to the Courts: A Teacher's Guide to the Wisconsin Courts. Wisconsin educators are urged to attend the institute and obtain The Teacher's Guide to the Wisconsin Courts. Other programs and materials on Wisconsin courts are available from the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Please join us at one of two training sessions to learn how to use this exciting new series in your classroom!

Funding and support for this site have been provided by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Wisconsin Humanities Council, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the Wisconsin Law Foundation and the Law-related Education Committee of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
